Partial Transfer of Asbestos Regs from GA EPD to US EPA

Because of State budget reductions, Georgia EPD has transferred some of its asbestos
regulatory responsibilities to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). EPA will assume
inspection, investigation and enforcement responsibilities of the Federal Asbestos National
Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) regulations, 40 Code of Federal
Regulations, Part 61, Subpart M for regulated facilities.
